Castle Westling Day Camp

Every year Castle High School Wrestling holds a day camp that runs from eight o’clock in the morning to four o’clock in the afternoon for three days. The day camps have a set schedule as well. In the morning, right at eight o’clock, we started the day off with a forty-five minute run. After that, we stretched, and at nine o’clock we had breakfast. Then, we got to have a little rest leading us to the next practice scheduled for the day.
The second practice ran from ten thirty to twelve thirty. These practices weren’t like any other practice though, they were harder. A lot more conditioning, a lot more wrestling, and a lot more tiring all together. After practice was done, we had lunch at about one o’clock. Then, we had about an hour and a half to relax, take a shower, and we even got to review some of our matches from preseason.
The third practice of the day is just like regular everyday practice, but ending with ten minute live wrestling matches. It was the same schedule for each day, but it was a lot of hard work. After each day I was sore, beat up, and tired. It was hard waking up each morning knowing what was coming, but I managed to keep a positive train of thought and a good attitude. I’m glad I went through with it just as much that its over, and I look forward to the camps to come and the new things I can learn from it every year.
