Day #2 Of Maui Invitationals

Waking up this morning was better than ever. The blood was flowing, and I was eager to get on the mats and start wrestling. There were only two teams that slept over last night, but before I could notice the gym was full of wrestling teams ready to start off the day great. There were no weigh ins today, and the tournament started at twelve o’clock. But even though it started at twelve, teams were already warming up from way before.
The first round I had a bye, so the first half of the tournament I didn’t wrestle at all. There were two boy rounds to one girl round at a time, and it went on to about four o’clock. After that there was a break, so while everyone went to go take showers or get ready for first or third place matches, officials set up the matches and got all the medals and awards into place. Six o’clock came faster than I thought, and I was ready to give it my all.
When the time for my match came and they called my name, I was excited and couldn’t wait to start. The girl I versed from Canada the day before was my opponent again. I new this was going to be a tough one, but I made to sure to keep my train of thought in the right direction. The match went surprisingly the same except she got the last takedown point. I know I could’ve done better, but what is done is done, just that next year I’m going to come back stronger and ready to take that first place medal.
