Kahuku Over Night Camp

Concussions are horrible, but the thought of another one, with all the different things I've been hearing about, scares me a lot. My coach was talking to me about concussions when he mentioned a fatality from numerous concussions. He said it was a teenage boy who was playing football. He got a concussion during a football game, and went back in anyway. The following week at the next football game, he had got another one, and died on the field because of two concussions in a span of one week. The thought of that happening just scares me because this is my second one.

Any way because of my concussion, I was out for the whole camp, but I still went and supported my team. I helped prep food, clean up, and encourage my teammates; but I wasn't able to participate. I can't wait until I go back on the mat. Seeing my teammates working hard around me while I sit on the side sucks, but I know my time will come sooner than I think. I guess it's better to be safe than sorry like that football player.
Also, a lot of my teammates got hurt at the camp, too! One boy broke his arm just training with one of the wrestlers from Kahuku. Another one got hurt from overworking his legs, and now he's in a wheelchair and can hardly even walk. Our team captain, Rebeca, twisted her ankle, and to top it all off, one of our best wrestler pulled his hamstring. We worked our hardest those past couple days, and it really shows.
